S&D Autumn Gala Weekend, Bluebell Railway

The annual Autumn Gala, which in previous years has been a 'Giants of Steam' Weekend had a different theme as there
were no Bulleid pacifics in action. The visiting locos were ex-S&DJR 2-8-0 No. 53809 from the Midland Railway Centre at
Butterley, and ex-LMS Jinty 0-6-0T No. 47493 from the Spa Valley Railway, Tunbridge Wells, which unfortunately failed on
the Thursday before. Ex-GWR 2-6-2T No. 5199 from Llangollen, which has been on the railway for several months, and
resident locos Nos. 65, 1638 and 80151 worked an intensive schedule of passenger trains on a mostly sunny Autumn day.
