Autumn Gala Weekend, Great Central Railway

Sunday 12th October 2008

The annual Autumn Gala in association with 'Steam Railway' magazine. The resident locos, ex-GWR 2-6-2T 
No. 4141, BR Standard Class 2 2-6-0 No. 78019 and National Collection ex-GCR Class 8K (LNER O4/1) 2-8-0 
No. 63601 were joined by 'Britannia' No. 70013 'Oliver Cromwell', which was restored to working order at 
the railway, LMS Jubilee No. 5690 'Leander' and two locos which had been on the railway for running trials, 
the new build LNER Class A1 No. 60163 'Tornado' in workshop grey and SR 4-6-0 'Lord Nelson' which had 
received firebox repairs. With seven locos, a mail train and two freights it was a good turn out.
