Autumn Gala Weekend, Great Central Railway

Sunday 14th October 2007

The annual Autumn Gala in association with 'Steam Railway' magazine.  This year's guest locos
were Black 5 No. 45110 from the Severn Valley Railway and GWR 0-6-2T No. 5643 from the
Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway.  King Arthur No. 30777 'Sir Lamiel' was back at its
'home base', running after repairs following use on main line specials and the line's resident locos,
GWR 2-6-2T No. 4141, LMS 8F No. 48305 and BR Standard Class 2 2-6-0 No. 78019 were all in steam
in a six-engine intensive service which included the TPO mail train demonstrating mail bag
exchange at Quorn and two freight trains, the 'windcutter' and a fully fitted freight.
