'Mail by Rail' Gala, Great Central Railway

Sunday 27th July 2008

A special weekend featuring the 'retirement' of the older TPO mail train.  SR 4-6-0 'Lord Nelson' which had
been moved to the railway for extended running in after firebox repairs, was one of the three steam locos,
with GWR 2-6-2T No. 4141 and Standard Class 2 2-6-0 No. 7819.  Also running were diesel locomotives,
B.R. Type 4 No. D123 and Type 2 No. D5185 plus a 2-car diesel multiple unit.
